Alan Epstein
Mr. Epstein is a partner at Hirschen Singer & Epstein LLP. He has over 15 years of experience in representing for-profit and nonprofit clients in connection with all aspects of real estate development and finance, acquisitions and dispositions, and leasing transactions.
Mr. Epstein specializes in the representation of not-for-profit sponsors, private developers, tax credit syndicators and lenders in the development of affordable housing under various Federal, State and City housing finance programs. He frequently represents sponsors and developers in financing transactions involving numerous sources of funding such as commercial bank loans, taxable and tax-exempt bonds and equity.
Prior to joining Hirschen Singer & Epstein LLP, Mr. Epstein was a partner at Manatt, Phelps & Phillips, LLP (formerly Kalkines, Arky, Zall & Bernstein LLP) where his practice was concentrated in real estate development and financing for multi-party public, private and not-for-profit development projects.
Mr. Epstein received a law degree from the New York University School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts from Oberlin College. He serves on the board of directors for the Center for Alternative Sentencing and Employment Services (CASES) and the Supportive Housing Network of New York (SHNNY). He also is a frequent lecturer on the topics of supportive housing financing and brownfields tax credits.
