59th Street Shelter

This newly constructed purpose-built shelter will serve 200 single adult homeless women developed through a partnership between Project Renewal, Inc. and the Hudson Companies. The shelter’s programming will focus on helping residents work toward independent living and include on-site services such as case management, health care, occupational therapy, horticultural therapy, and housing placement services, along with security and operations staff. A street-facing medical clinic will serve both shelter clients and members of the broader community. The building includes thoughtfully designed amenities such as a screened, landscaped exterior courtyard, a terrace with raised planting beds, a library and a wellness center to provide ample recreation space for residents.
