Sendero Verde B
Sendero Verde B is the first phase of a permanently affordable passive house development in East Harlem. This first phase will include 360 units of affordable housing for households ranging from very low to moderate income, including 36 apartments specifically set aside for formerly homeless tenants. The Puerto Rican Organization to Motivate, Enlighten and Serve Addicts, Inc. will provide on-site tenant services. Sendero Verde B will also provide approximately 12,000 square feet for a Union Settlement Association community center for seniors and youth, an approximately 50,000 SF for a school facility, an 11,500 SF garden designed by Greenthumb Community Gardens to be conveyed to the City of New York upon completion, and a publicly accessible elevated courtyard with a variety of active and passive recreation spaces.
