Caton Flats

Caton Flats

Caton Flats is a mixed-use development located at the corner of Flatbush and Caton Avenues in the Flatbush neighborhood of Brooklyn. It replaces the shuttered Flatbush-Caton Market, a long-running hub of Caribbean-owned small businesses and merchants that served as a major cultural destination for local residents. The development contains affordable rental apartments, a new home for the Flatbush Caton Market, incubator space for local entrepreneurs and businesses, a new headquarters for the Caribbean American Chamber of Commerce and Industry, parking, and ground floor retail.

In 2017, the firm obtained ULURP approvals for Caton Flats. The ULURP approvals obtained from the New York City Planning Commission and New York City Council include: disposition of City-owned property, a zoning map amendment from R7A to R8A/C2-4, and a zoning text amendment to designate the site an MIH area.
